Wesley UMC honored at Yu-Ai Kai Gala

This year 2024, Yu-Ai Kai, our Japantown senior center, celebrates its 50th year! Fifty years of services to our seniors with programs that help them, us, age with health and happy interests and with the aid of useful resources. You are invited to help celebrate, at the Yu-Ai Kai 50th Anniversary Gala, on Saturday March 16. Join us at the Signia by Hilton (the former Fairmont in downtown San Jose). Tickets are $225. The evening begins with a reception at 4pm, followed at 5pm for dinner and program with the Hawaiian music of Jon Yamasato and Herb Ohta Jr. Wesley UMC will be honored along with the San Jose Buddhist Church Betsuin as early supporters of Yu-Ai Kai. From Yu-Ai Kai’s early years, Wesley Church leaders were consulted and advised, the Wesley Church congregation has volunteered in Yu-Ai Kai programs, and the Wesley Fellowship Hall served as the site of the weekday nutrition lunch program for 14 years until Yu-Ai Kai completed its building on 4th Street.
